WhatsApp templates
Meta requires an approved template whenever your business starts a conversation outside the customer-service window.
Template categories
Akked supports utility, marketing, and authentication templates. Every API-ready template has a fixed parameter contract, supported languages, and an approval state controlled by Meta.
OTP authentication
The ready OTP template sends a one-time code with Meta’s copy-code button. Pass a 4–10 digit code parameter and never write that code to application logs.
Sending limits and policy
Only marketing templates are limited to one per recipient per 24 hours; the API returns recipient_frequency_capped for a second one. Utility and authentication templates are not capped by Akked. Recipients who opted out or are suppressed are rejected with recipient_opted_out or recipient_suppressed. You are responsible for collecting consent before messaging someone.
Parameter contracts
Parameter names are exact. Missing required values and unexpected fields are rejected before a message consumes queue capacity.
