Getting started
Connect your business, prepare a sender, and send your first WhatsApp message.
Before you begin
You need an Akked account, a Meta Business portfolio, and a WhatsApp Business number you are authorized to manage.
Meta account requirements
- Payment method: link a valid payment method to your WhatsApp Business Account in Meta. Meta bills WhatsApp message fees to you directly, and sends are blocked without one.
- Marketing and utility templates can be sent without Meta business verification, with a lower daily limit on the number of people you can start conversations with until you verify.
- OTP (authentication) templates require a verified Meta business.
Meta sets and changes these rules, so check Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform documentation before you launch.
Connect and send
- 1Create your Akked account and complete your store profile.
- 2Connect your Meta WhatsApp Business number.
- 3Wait for the number and WhatsApp templates to be approved by Meta.
- 4Create an API key and call
GET /api/v1/senders. - 5Send an approved template and poll its
status_urlfor delivery status (outbound webhooks are planned).
